About Us
The Department of Commerce commenced in the Institute in the year 1976-77 in the able headship of Dr. Ram Sakal Singh, at the time when commerce as an educational choice was very peculiar for society. To fulfil the primary needs of the students the Faculty was upgraded, consequently P.G. Classes started since 1979-80.
At present there are 10 Faculties in the Department headed by Prof. Jai Shankar Shukla, Professor. The Faculty also runs 'Entrepreneurial Development Programme' as an Add-on-Course.
The Faculty conducted 6 National Seminars sponsored by U.G.C./ISSR successfully. 56 students have been awarded Ph.D. degree under the super vision of the Faculty of the Department. 195 papers were presented and published in National and International Seminars while 212 seminars/workshop were attended by the faculties of the Department. 17 Books have also been edited by the faculties of the Department. Two major and five minor research projects have been completed, funded by ICSSR/UGC.
