About Us
The Department of Chemistry is one is of the most prominent and oldest Department of Kamla Nehru Institute of Physical and Social Sciences, Sultanpur. It started working in the year 1973 at undergraduate level and upgraded to post graduate level in 1979. Dr. Ram Ji Shukla was the first Head of the Department. Presently Dr. R. P. Singh is looking after the Department along with a brilliant team of Faculty members who are providing an exceptionally rich learning environment.
The Department started research/Ph.D. in year 1993 and 26 Ph.D. have been awarded by Dr. R. M. L. Avadh University, Ayodhya till date. An Add-on course (Certificate Course) is also running in the Department from 2013-14. The Department has a departmental library for P.G. Students which has more than 14 hundreds books. It also has a unique library for UG students, which has more than 500 books for poor and weak students.
The Department is quite rich in learning methods to the students as it organizes seminar and mega seminar for PG students, a lot of curricular, co-curricular and extension activities time to time. The Department focuses on providing student with individual attention, promoted to small lecture and lab classes taught by Faculties committed to one-on-one and small with interactions.
